Profile update and enrollment instructions

  1. Log into the Intranet (formerly HealthPort). If you are on the Northwell Health network, you can access the Intranet at intranet.northshorelij.com. If you are not on the Northwell network, you can access the Intranet by going to northwell.edu and selecting the Intranet link in the lower right corner. You will need to log into the network with your Universal ID/Login name and password. (Physicians at Staten Island University Hospital should log out of the Intranet by using the down arrow near the top right of the page and selecting “Sign Out,” and log back in using their Northwell credentials.) These were provided to you when you joined the health system. If you do not know your login name or password or the browser on your computer is out-of-date and does not load the Intranet, please contact the Help Desk at (516) 470-7272.  If this is your first time logging into the system, your initial password will be the two digit month and day of your birthday, followed by the last four digits of your Social Security Number. For example, if your birthday is February 21, 1962 and your Social Security Number is 123 456 7890, your password will be 02217890. If you experience any difficulties logging in, please contact the Help Desk at (516) 470-7272.
  2. Search for yourself using the Find a Colleague search box at the top right of the Intranet home page.
  3. Click the “update profile” button on your profile page in Find a Colleague. It is located at the bottom right of the page.
  4. Click through each of the pages that are displayed, updating your information as necessary. By adding these areas to your profile, you are providing our patients with information on your background, specialties, and other areas that will be valuable in their use of the Find a Doctor tool to identify a physician for their needs. Keep in mind that after submission, your “About Me” biography section will be sent to your department chair for approval prior to publishing. Any other changes not in need of HR or credentialing review should be viewable within a day.

What you can update on the Intranet

When you access your profile on the Intranet, you have the ability to update important information including your board certifications, hospital affiliations, contact information and About Me biography section.

By ensuring that the most up-to-date and complete information is included in your profile, you are helping to provide our patients with a comprehensive overview of the physicians in our system and the ability to easily search for one who may best fit their needs. For those searching for physicians outside of our website, having a fully updated profile will contribute to your information appearing in search engine results.

How to update your profile picture

We encourage you to include a professional headshot with your profile. Portraits are taken on Thursdays from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Northwell Health Studios, located at 155 Community Drive in Great Neck. Business attire is required. We ask that all physicians have standardized headshots, which is why physicians cannot upload their own headshots to the Intranet.
