Integrated Residency in Vascular Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital

Integrated Residency in Vascular Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital

Lenox Hill Hospital offers a five-year vascular surgery integrated residency program, accredited by the ACGME. The program offers residents the opportunity to develop surgical skills in the care of disorders of the circulatory system under the tutelage of the country’s top vascular surgeons.

The core faculty is comprised of surgeons and interventionalists specializing in vascular and endovascular surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, interventional cardiology, laparoscopic surgery, colon and rectal surgery, bariatric surgery, surgical critical care, and breast surgery.  The vascular surgery team at Lenox Hill Hospital are leaders in their respective fields and continues to set standards of care worldwide in both traditional and minimally invasive endovascular surgery.

Lenox Hill Hospital is a leading vascular surgery center in New York City because of its use of advanced surgical technology. Our residents have the opportunity to learn how to perform precision surgery in conventional operative and high-volume interventional suites. Working in tandem with world-class surgeons and vascular technicians, our residents develop the necessary skills to identify and plan treatment for a wide range of conditions.

Program facts

Part of one of the largest health systems in the country, Lenox Hill Hospital offers patients – and residents – a boutique hospital experience. The small size of the program allows for more intimate connections with patients and more hands-on training opportunities. Each year, we take one resident to ensure our residents are receiving personalized attention that allows them to properly develop the surgical skills necessary to succeed in the field. Since the program is in the heart of New York City, our residents experience providing care to a culturally and socioeconomically diverse patient population. That level of diversity helps prepare our residents for the real world experience they will face in the clinical setting and beyond.
