Michael Esposito, MD, FCAP is the residency program director of the Northwell Health pathology residency training program and associate professor at the Zucker School of Medicine. He is also the director of the thoracic pathology service of department of pathology and laboratory medicine.
Dr. Esposito is a practicing pathologist with a special interest in thoracic pathology including lung cancer, interstitial lung disease and mediastinal pathology. He also has a strong interest in graduate medical education, especially the use of active learning strategies in pathology residency training. He has been the residency program director for the past 10 years and has been practicing pathology for 21 years.
Board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology, Dr. Esposito did his residency training in pathology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University (formerly NEOUCOM), and his undergraduate degree from New York University.
Dr. Esposito has served as a board member of the Nassau County Society of Pathologists. He is a fellow of the College of American Pathologist, as well as a member of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology. He is a member of the Pulmonary Pathology Society and an active member of the program directors section (PRODS) of the Association of Pathology Chairs.
