Residency in Internal Medicine at Long Island Jewish Forest Hills

The Northwell Health Residency in Internal Medicine at Long Island Jewish Forest Hills provides comprehensive training that emphasizes clinical competence, research, leadership, and patient-centered care, all in a supportive, collegial setting. As one of the nation’s largest health systems, Northwell Health has unparalleled resources to support training, including a world-class research institute and an innovative new medical school.

Message from the program director

To be an internist is to combine effective clinical skills with experience, compassion, a love of science and clear critical thinking. The internist blends the science of medicine with the art of clinical practice to create an environment conducive to both continued learning and quality patient care. The Residency in Internal Medicine at Long Island Jewish Forest Hills program helps integrate medical student’s compassion and love of science with the clinical skills necessary to provide exceptional healthcare.

Long Island Jewish Forest Hills is unique – a community-based hospital in the middle of the most culturally diverse county in the country. Internal Medicine residents get hands-on experience with a high volume of patients that come through the in-patient and out-patient services. Our residents also have the opportunity to utilize Northwell Health resources for clinical training and research.

We pride ourselves on our ability to adapt to individual requirements, to foster personal development and to revise curriculum as the need arises. Our faculty is readily available and deeply involved on a daily basis with our residents. We encourage interaction between residents and faculty.
