Fellowship in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at Northwell Health

Fellowship in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at Northwell Health

Welcome

The Division of Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine (PCCM) in the Department of Medicine offers fellowship positions each year to board-eligible internists who wish to subspecialize in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine. This three-year combined subspecialty program trains fellows to acquire the expertise and competency of a specialist in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine according to the requirements set forth by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education.

This program offers a closely mentored experience in the diagnosis and management of patients with pulmonary disease and critical illness in both inpatient and ambulatory settings. Fellows participate in scholarly activities involving teaching, basic and/or clinical research, and focused study in a particular area of interest.

Accredited training programs in allergy and immunology, cardiovascular disease, endocrinology, emergency medicine, gastrointestinal disease, hematology and oncology, infectious disease, nephrology, neurology, rheumatology, general surgery, cardiothoracic surgery and neurosurgery are present on campus to ensure extensive educational, patient care and research resources, as well as peer interactions that are essential to the learning environment for critical care medicine fellows. North Shore University Hospital provides services for the care of patients with major trauma.

Our fellows are recruited after a rigorous selection process from a talented group of applicants. They are a highly motivated, hardworking, diverse group of individuals that form the fabric of the fellowship program.
