Medical training is a period of rigorous development. Striking a balance between between your personal and professional responsibilities is essential to your success. We encourage residents to take advantage of the many free and low cost events in New York City and Long Island, such as apple picking on Long Island or stop by a street festival in the city.

Glen Cove Hospital is located on the north shore of Long Island in Nassau County. The community is very diverse and has a under of cultural events throughout the year. Glen Cove is close to many beaches, sporting facilities, concert halls and home to a variety of social organizations. Though there is public transportation, access to a motor vehicle is recommended. New York City is accessible by regional rail.

The family medicine residency program also offers a variety of activities for residents to unwind and improve their experiences, including:

  • July & January Team Building Sessions
  • Oct/Nov Family Medicine Academic Day
  • December Holiday party
  • June Graduation party

Our training program is also committed to providing you with a number of academic opportunities paid for by the program. The program will pay your expenses to present scholarly work at conferences and provide leave for educational meetings and conferences.
