Fellowship in Combined Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine & Critical Care Pathway at Long Island Jewish Medical Center

Fellowship in Combined Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine & Critical Care Pathway at Long Island Jewish Medical Center

About us

Since 1999, Long Island Jewish Medical Center has offered a six-year board approved program in emergency medicine, internal medicine and critical care medicine. This is one of only four programs offered in the United States.

This program builds from the five-year combined emergency medicine and internal medicine residency program, offering an optional sixth year of critical care training. Critical care begins in the emergency department and continues throughout hospitalization. Graduates of this combined training will likely function as hospital-based acute care specialists in practice or academic environments.

Entry into this program is optional and will be made available to the combined residents upon completion of their first year at the discretion of the program director.

Application Process

Current emergency medicine-internal medicine fellows may apply for this sixth year program. For eligibility information, contact the Emergency Medicine Department.
