The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine has a deep commitment to world-class clinical care, education and research. As part of Northwell Health, we have access to unparalleled resources and serve a large, diverse population with many types of conditions and disorders, allowing us to build remarkably broad expertise.
Our division first opened its doors in the 1980’s with one faculty member; since then, it has seen exponential growth to become a faculty of over 35 dedicated academic physicians. Our staff is recognized for their talents in treating the many diseases of the lungs, critical illness and sleep disorders that enables them to deliver focused care that includes the latest medical advancements. Our faculty serves as a resource for primary care providers as well as other pulmonary physicians seeking help with more complex cases.
We also offer several support groups, including:
We’re studying how exercise and remote monitoring can improve the lives of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)—while also paying special attention to treatment disparities found predominantly among African-American and Hispanic populations.
If you're at risk, our specialists can help. We offer sleep medicine services, including state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment facilities, to individuals with sleep apnea and other disorders.
