Since 2012, Patricia Farrell, RN, has been Southside Hospital’s associate executive director and chief nursing officer, where she oversees all nursing services, including strategic planning, budget management and regulatory compliance.
Previously, Ms. Farrell served in various roles at Northwell Health, including senior administrative director for patient care services, director of cardiac services (Department of Cardiology Services), clinical practice coordinator for non-invasive cardiology services, clinical practice coordinator of a surgical unit specializing in pulmonary diseases, and bed board coordinator and admitting nurse at LIJ Medical Center.
Ms. Farrell has received several awards, including Northwell’s Every Day Hero Award (2013). She’s been a finalist and nominee for Northwell’s President’s Awards, and she is cochair of the Procedural Safety Committee at Southside.
She is a board member of the Long Beach Waterfront Warriors and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Epsilon Kappa Chapter, American Academy of Cardiovascular Administrators, the American Heart Association and Six Sigma Green Belt.
Ms. Farrell holds nurse executive and medical/surgical certifications. She has a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Mount Saint Mary College and a master’s in nursing administration and informatics from Molloy College.
