Oleg I. Rivkin is a supervising PA and board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from the College of Staten Island and graduated from the physician assistant program at Bayley Seton Hospital. Currently, Oleg is pursuing an MBA degree from Hofstra University. He has been working in neurosurgery at Northwell Health for over 12 years caring for brain and spine patients, specializing in first assist in operating room and patient management in the neurosurgical ICU. Oleg has a strong knowledge base of neurosurgery which enables him to deliver compassionate care Oleg is involved with managing and orienting PA providers and PA students (hiring, orienting, training, evaluating, disciplining, ensuring proper credentials and scheduling). He also devises policies of current patient care, establishing treatment and procedural protocols, and first assist in the OR. Oleg’s area of expertise is in inpatient ER/ICU/floor responsibilities, such as interpretation of diagnostic tests and implementing proper care based on results and placements of ventricular and lumbar drains.
In addition, Oleg received the Coordinator Bronze Medal from the National Institute of Health in the CLEAR III ThrombOlympics performance contest. As the coordinator of an international, 500-patient, randomized clinical trial at Northwell Health, he received the award for helping to make NSLIJ one of the highest enrollers.
