As one of the largest laboratory systems in the Northeast, Northwell Health Labs recognizes the importance of laboratory results in a patient's care. We offer a wide variety of clinical testing procedures at our conveniently located Patient Service Centers across New York City and Long Island, where our phlebotomists examine samples of blood, urine, other bodily fluids and tissue to get information about a patient’s health. With professionally trained and friendly staff, we provide thorough, compassionate service with accurate diagnostic results.

Blood tests are used to diagnose and monitor treatment for a variety of conditions. Northwell Health Labs makes getting blood drawn easy at all our Patient Service Centers. Before visiting one of our convenient locations for blood drawing, be sure to:
- Call your physician or the Northwell Health Labs location nearest you to determine if tests ordered will require fasting or special preparation.
- Bring a copy of your physician’s test requisition or prescription along with your insurance information or card.
Please be aware that appointments are only necessary for time-sensitive tests such as glucose tolerance and platelet aggregation. Your physician will receive a completed report from Northwell Health Labs when your test results become available.
Our experienced phlebotomists are also trained in pediatric care and will use calm and gentle techniques to make sure your child feels as comfortable as possible. Ask for a copy of our Parent’s Guide for some helpful tips for you and your child.
We accept all major insurances and accept payment via cash, check or credit card. If you do not have your insurance card, we will still draw your blood; however, you will have to follow up by faxing a copy of your insurance information directly to our Billing Department at (516) 414-3825.

Information empowers patients. That’s why we’ve made it easy for you to get your lab information, so you can get valuable insight into your personal health.
To receive a free copy of your recent lab test results, just download the Authorization for Release of Health Information form and send the completed form to the Laboratory Services Center. You can receive results by phone, email, US mail, fax, or in person. Most tests take up to four days to complete, though some results may take longer.
Lab results can only be released to the patient or an authorized representative. Results are also available to some patients through FollowMyHealth, Northwell Health's patient portal; call (844) 364-8108 for questions and technical support.
