Northwell named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies

Northwell Health has been selected as one of the 2018 World's Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices.

Northwell, New York's largest health care system with 23 hospitals and about 650 outpatient facilities, was named a Most Ethical Company for the fourth consecutive year. It is one of 135 honorees in 2018 spanning 23 countries and 57 industries, including one of seven non-profit health care providers.

"Northwell's standing amongst the most ethical companies in the world speaks to our culture of compassion and quality care we deliver to our patients along with the high standards we expect from our employee caregivers," said Michael J. Dowling, president and CEO of Northwell Health. "This honor reminds us that we must hold ourselves accountable in everything we do each and every day."

The Arizona-based Ethisphere Institute judged companies based on their performance in five key areas, from corporate governance to risk, sustainability, compliance and ethics. The 12th class of honorees had record levels of involvement with their stakeholders and communities around the world. Measuring and improving culture, leading authentically and committing to transparency, diversity and inclusion were all priorities for honorees.

"We are truly honored to be counted among The World's Most Ethical Companies," said Greg Radinsky, senior vice president and chief corporate compliance officer of Northwell Health. "The award recognizes Northwell Health's commitment to integrity, innovation and excellence which we strive to deliver every day to our patients and members."

Honorees will be recognized at an event on March 13 in New York City.
