North Shore University Hospital photo contest seeks entries

Row upon row of colorful watering cans proved to be the winning entry to last year's North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) photo contest. A framed, oversized version of Ruth Siegel's photo hangs prominently at the hospital.

Now it's time to see who will get wall space as the winner of the 2018 Auxiliary of North Shore University Hospital's annual photo contest. Judges will select images they believe elicit calming, positive responses from patients. The top three finishers will receive a complimentary print at an awards reception and their signed and titled print will hang at the hospital.

Photo submissions cost $5 each and must be received by October 1. Proceeds go to NSUH's patient programs. Only 5x7 or 8x10 color prints will be accepted. For official rules and entry form, go to You can also call Volunteer Services at 516-562-4947.
