New York, NY —
Forty-five volunteers from Lenox Hill Hospital and Manhattan, Eye Ear & Throat Hospital gathered at the this year's annual Third Avenue Street Fair to showcase medical services, provide free screenings, distribute branded giveaways and promote a safe and healthy lifestyle to the community.
Activities included ambulance tours for kids, infant and adult CPR demonstrations and baby swaddling lessons. Clinical staff performed nearly 400 free screenings for blood pressure, vision and lung function. The volunteers gave away 1,000 bike helmets – donated by the Auxiliary of Lenox Hill Hospital – and raffled off tickets to the New York Rangers, as well as passes to the Chelsea Piers sports and entertainment complex. In addition, health professionals from the departments of cardiology, pulmonology, orthopedics and sleep medicine were on hand to answer questions and provide medical information to the public.
