Free Bay Shore seminar October 4 to focus on treatment options for chronic hip and knee pain

BAY SHORE, NY —

If you or a loved one has experienced long-term hip or knee pain, you may be a candidate for joint replacement surgery. To help educate the community, experts from Northwell Health's Orthopaedic Institute will offer a free seminar highlighting the benefits and types of knee and hip joint replacement surgery. The event will be held Wednesday, October 4 from 7-9 p.m. at the YMCA Boulton Center for the Performing Arts, 37 West Main St., Bay Shore, NY 11706.

The seminar, "The Ins and Outs of Joint Replacement Surgery: Before, During and After," will cover:

  • Benefits and types of knee joint replacement and hip joint replacement
  • What makes you a candidate for joint replacement
  • Physical therapy rehabilitation, preparing for surgery and managing at home after surgery
  • Living an active life after joint replacement

The following Northwell Health experts will present the seminar:

Keith Reinhardt, MD, orthopaedic joint surgeon; Michael Nett, MD, orthopaedic joint surgeon; and Don O'Brien, PT, physical therapist.

Snacks and light refreshments will be served.
