Our approach

The Memory Disorders Center of Northwell Health Institute for Neurology and Neurosurgery is dedicated to diagnosing and treating neurological memory disorders. Patients and families can count on receiving expert treatment with the utmost compassion, sensitivity and respect.

Though many of the diseases are genetic in origin, a variety of medical and/or environmental conditions may spur the onset, including:

  • Alcoholism
  • Cancer
  • Stroke
  • Toxins
  • Chemicals
  • Viruses

In many cases, the cause is unknown.
