Melissa is a licensed speech-language pathologist working in the neurorehabilitation field for the past 10 years. She provides evaluation and treatment of disorders including aphasia, dysphagia, dysarthria, apraxia, dysphonia and cognitive-communication deficits. She is certified in VitalStim®, a neuro-muscular electrical stimulation and deep pharyngeal neuromuscular stimulation (DPNS) for the rehabilitation of swallow, and LSVT® for rehabilitation of voice. Melissa graduated from the Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences program at Hofstra University in 2006 and is currently pursuing her PhD at Adelphi University. She is a member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. Additionally, Melissa is an adjunct professor at Hofstra University.
