Will my bill be different than the rate provided below?
The rate provided below is an estimate based on average Medicare payment rate paid to the hospital for a visit or procedure that does not have complications. The amount you owe may vary due to a number of circumstances, such as:
- Additional testing, medications, services or procedures that may be required
- Pre-existing factors that may impact your medical needs. Examples include obesity, smoking and diabetes.
- Your physician may determine that a different procedure needs to be performed than originally planned.

Rates noted above may vary based on pre-existing health conditions, severity of illness, and the actual procedure performed as well as for patients who require an unusually long hospital stay or whose stay generates unusually high costs, i.e., the most severely ill. The variations in price as a result of these variables are excluded from the amounts reflected in this tool.
Prices listed do not include physicians' fees. Their physicians will send a separate bill for services. Examples include charges from the surgeon, anesthesiologist or radiologist.
Outpatient services can include additional ancillary services such as laboratory and radiology procedures which are not factored in the rates displayed as the type and quantity may vary from procedure to procedure.
