Visitation policies and procedures

Visitors are welcome during a patient's stay at Lenox Health Greenwich Village. Patients may choose who can and cannot visit without regard to legal relationship, race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or disability. Limits on visitation are sometimes needed depending on a patient's medical condition. Other reasons for limiting visiting may include, but are not limited to:

  • If the patient request restrictions or limitations.
  • If there are safety concerns such as risk of infection.
  • If visiting interferes with the care of other patients. This includes the need for rest or privacy.
  • An existing court order that restricts contact.
  • Visitors who are disruptive, threatening, or violent.
  • Patients in a substance abuse/mental health treatment program that has limited visiting.
  • Children of any age are welcomed to visit, however, children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Visitor presence and support is important. Lenox Health Greenwich Village thanks visitors for their partnership in caring.
