Karissa Tan is a board-certified adult health nurse practitioner. She joined the health system in 2008 as a registered nurse on a cardiac floor. She earned her Master in Science of Nursing in 2012. Since then, she has worked in the Department of Neurosurgery as a nurse practitioner in the Center for Neuro-Endovascular Surgery and Stroke.
Karissa treats children and adults with brain aneurysms, brain arteriovenous malformations, facial malformations, and stroke. She also coordinates care for patients with brain tumors enrolled in intra-arterial chemotherapy trials. In addition to her role as a health care provider, Karissa is a dedicated liaison for patients and families, helping to manage their care and ease their concerns.
