Our musculoskeletal radiologists diagnose and treat disorders of the bones, joints and soft tissue, including traumatic injury, sports injury, neck and back pain and bone and soft tissue tumors. We emphasize quality, caring and full integration into the medical and surgical care provided throughout Northwell Health.
- Our radiologists use state-of-the-art technology to provide highly precise, accurate images, interpreting more than 30,000 magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans and performing more than 2,000 ultrasound- and fluoroscope-guided diagnostic and therapeutic procedures each year. Computed tomography (CT scan) and X-ray are also important technologies, particularly for diagnosis of acute trauma in the emergency setting. Our radiology physicians, technologists, and physicists are specifically trained in radiation safety and are committed to limiting your exposure to the lowest dose necessary to make the proper diagnosis.
- Our radiologists are subspecialists fellowship-trained in musculoskeletal imaging. They specialize exclusively in interpreting musculoskeletal exams and performing musculoskeletal procedures, which studies show tends to reduce procedure length and pain and promote improved outcomes.
- Our highly trained and caring technologists and nurses ensure that every image is of the highest possible quality while helping you feel comfortable throughout the exam. They are always available to answer your questions.
- Our radiologists work closely with orthopedists, spine surgeons, pain management physicians and other clinical specialists throughout the health system to help ensure the most effective treatment plan for your situation.
