Sub-acute rehabilitation is for patients who need a less intense, less medically-supervised rehabilitation environment. Sub- acute facilities provide treatment until patients are ready to return home or to a long-term care setting. Inpatient sub-acute rehabilitation services are available at the following locations:
- Northwell Health Stern Family Center for Rehabilitation
- Northwell Health Orzac Center for Rehabilitation

The teams of speech-language pathologists at the outpatient facilities will create an individualized treatment program based on each patient’s needs and goals – whether it is to improve communication skills, swallowing and/or cognitive abilities.
