Overview

Physiatrists are integral in helping to rediscover and restore each patient’s optimal level of function, independence and quality of life. They will develop a comprehensive plan focused on non-surgical treatments that will help patients heal medically, socially and emotionally. They may recommend nerve testing, therapeutic injections, medications, physical therapy, assistive devices (e.g. braces or splint) or prosthetics (e.g. artificial joint or limb).
