Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP)

Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP) is surgery to remove the uvula (the projection in the back of the throat) and all, or a part, of the soft palate. The purpose of this procedure is to eliminate snoring or obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). It is most likely that the doctor will also remove the tonsils if they are still present.
