Speech and Language Therapy
Some multiple sclerosis (MS) patients develop problems with their speech. If you’re experiencing these symptoms, we can help you with speech and language therapy.
MS symptoms can cause fatigue or weakness in muscles, including muscles that you need in order to speak clearly, and this can result in slowed or slurred speech. Speech and language therapy include treatments designed to help you regain and increase your ability to communicate.
Your team will evaluate the likely cause of your symptoms and provide you with a number of options that may include exercises for your muscles and your voice, or the use of communication devices. They may also suggest updates to your diet and your posture while eating to promote optimal conditions for your speech center.
