Frontal and Temporal Nerve Blocks
Certain headaches may be eliminated by helping to reduce abnormal signals sent by specific nerves including the frontal nerve or temporal nerve. If your symptoms are continuous, painful and not responsive to other treatments then your treatment team may suggest a nerve block.
Frontal and Temporal nerve blocks help to relieve your pain by blocking the nerves that are causing the pain. Your doctor will inject steroids or other medicine into nerves located near your face to help reduce the pain you are feeling. Typically, the needle is very thin in order to cause you the least amount of pain, and doctors are considerate of the cosmetic effects this procedure may have. This is an outpatient procedure that has very few side effects and is an effective treatment for certain types of headaches./p>
