Hamartoma Cognitive Dysfunction
Hypothalamic Hamartoma (HH), a brain malformation, often results in problems such as memory impairment, imbalance and trouble walking, and visual and verbal learning issues. These cognitive dysfunctions may be less severe in people who have not been diagnosed with HH until adulthood.
Other symptoms of HH may resemble such conditions as attention deficit disorder, autism, depression, paranoia and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Treatments for HH-related cognitive dysfunction are similar to those used for the specific impairment caused by other conditions.
