The Department of Ophthalmology at Northwell Health and Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital (MEETH) provides specialized diagnosis and treatment for disorders that affect the nerves and muscles surrounding the eye, such as the optic nerve, the cranial nerves that control ocular movement and the nerves that open and close the eyelids. Our fellowship-trained neuro-ophthalmologists, work closely with the neurologists and neurosurgeons at the Neuroscience Institute and Lenox Hill Hospital to treat problems that affect the brain’s interpretation of vision that can occur with neurological diseases such as:

  • Blepharospasm
  • Brain tumors
  • Double vision
  • Loss of vision
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Pseudotumor cerebri
  • Strokes
