MIBG (Metaiodobenzylguanidine) scan

During an MIBG scan, a small amount of radioactive material called MIBG is injected into a vein and travels through the bloodstream. Neuroendocrine tumors cells take up the radioactive materials and can then be seen on pictures. Scans may be taken over a few days in order to determine the location of these tumors.
