Active surveillance

Active surveillance

Active surveillance is the process of observing and monitoring the growth of a cancer. A physician will schedule regular checkups to monitor the tumor for any signs of changes in behavior. The frequency of visits will be determined by the physician based on the type of tumor and the patient’s individual case.

If the tumor activity changes then treatment may be necessary.
