At Zucker Hillside Hospital, the focus is caring for patients and making them comfortable while they are on the path to recovery. With that in mind, these are some useful items patients may bring to the hospital:
- Shaving Cream
- Disposable shavers
- Soap in a soap dish
- Robe (without a belt, only)
- Changes in clothing and outerwear (according to weather conditions)
A washing machine, dryer, and detergent are available free of charge on each of the inpatient units. If you use dentures, please bring adhesive and cleaner. A denture container will be provided. If you wear eyeglasses, please bring them and label them. If you use a hearing aid, please bring extra batteries.
Although we encourage families to bring patient’s eyeglasses, hearing aids and dentures for their comfort, please be aware that the hospital cannot take responsibility for the loss of these items.
Patients have access to at least one public telephone, which is located in the hallway of each unit. Telephones may be utilized for incoming and outgoing calls between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. Patients are requested to be considerate of their peers by limiting calls to a maximum of ten minutes each, and to discourage outside callers from calling beyond the designated hours. If you require additional privacy when making or receiving a call, please advise staff of the specific need and they will make the necessary accommodation.
