Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation Services (STARS) East Meadow helps patients find relief from pain and get moving again after an accident, injury, illness or surgery. As part of the Northwell Health, STARS is staffed by licensed, friendly therapists who are experienced in the latest rehabilitation techniques. The STARS team partners with each patient, guiding them every step of the way toward a safe, healthy, rapid recovery.

- Saturday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Strive for Wellness Program
The Northwell Health Strive for Wellness Program at Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation Services (STARS) is designed to meet the needs of our community members who have suffered a spinal cord injury or are neurologically impaired. The program provides patients an alternative to standard gyms, allowing them to train in a safe and accessible environment with the specialized equipment that will help them meet their fitness goals.
Arthritis Aquatics Program
- Monday: 1:00 p.m.
- Tuesday: 1:30 p.m.
- Thursday: 2:00 p.m.
- Friday: 1:00 p.m.
Exercise in a warm pool. Classes are 45 minutes and only $5. The Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program allows patients to exercise without putting excess strain on their joints and muscles. The gentle activities in warm water, with guidance from a trained instructor, help patients gain strength and flexibility. The Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program also provides a friendly and supportive atmosphere in which participants can make new friends and try new activities.

Multiple Sclerosis Classes
When: Monday 1:20 p.m. – 2:30 p.m., with Douglas Griffin, PT
STARS and the Long Island Chapter of the MS Society provide a group physical therapy program. The program is a series of six one-hour group sessions with a physical therapist that provides exercises for joint range of motion, flexibility, core stability and education.

- Individual exercise plans based on your needs.
- Instruction by certified cancer exercise specialists.
