We are located on the first floor of the Manhattan, Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital (MEETH) building in the Primary Care Center.

The mission of the RDC is to provide patients with a full range of high-quality, patient-focused HIV primary care and specialty services. We aim to improve the health of the communities we serve through prevention, early diagnosis and coordinated treatment of HIV in a multidisciplinary and comprehensive care environment consistent with MEETH’s commitment to excellence.
We are dedicated to delivering care in a supportive, respectful and compassionate manner to all persons. We recognize and address the medical and psychosocial needs of patients and their families without regard to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, race, ethnicity, national origin, source of payment and/or disability. We strive to continuously improve the quality of care, educate all learners, conduct research, advance our knowledge and to contribute to the progression of HIV care and management with the ultimate aim of a future cure.
We are discretely identified as the Primary Care Center within the hospital (without mention of HIV) for the comfort and security of our patients. We know that things come up and you cannot always keep your appointment. If that happens, we ask you to call and cancel, preferably 24 hours ahead. This allows us to use your appointment to serve another patient in need.
Under the guidance and leadership of Dr. Ladan Ahmadi, medical director, RDC, our highly qualified staff includes full-time primary care providers, social workers, a nutritionist and a variety of other specialists to provide our patients with comprehensive care. Specialists include professionals in the fields of cardiology, nephrology, psychiatry, gastroenterology, and dermatology. We will also make referrals to other specialists as needed.
HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections Care
- Sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening, diagnosis, and management
- Comprehensive HIV primary care services by providers licensed and credentialed as HIV specialists

- Mental health and psychosocial services
- Substance abuse interventions
- Acute inpatient care
- Full suite of specialist referrals, many of which provide care directly on-site at the RDC
- Management and treatment of Hepatitis C for HIV positive individuals
- On-site, confidential HIV counseling, risk reduction education and referrals as needed
- Rapid HIV testing and counseling for all patients, regardless of insurance coverage
- Quick test results, generally available in 20 minutes
- Pre-exposure (PrEP) and post-exposure (PeP) prophylaxis for appropriate individuals
