At the Department of Urology at Lenox Hill Hospital, our multidisciplinary team of physicians and nurses has the extensive training and diverse experience necessary to provide the very best care for your urologic condition.
Our specialists' surgical expertise includes robotic surgery using the da Vinci Surgical System Sl, the most sophisticated robotic surgical technology available. Robotic surgery has proven benefits compared to traditional open surgery techniques. These benefits include less postoperative pain and blood loss, shorter hospitalizations, quicker recovery and a faster return to normal activities. The oncologic (cancer control) and quality-of-life outcomes (erectile dysfunction and urinary continence) are also similar to outcomes with traditional open surgery.
Our robot-assisted urologic procedures include:
- Radical prostatectomy
- Bladder diverticulectomy
- Ureteral reimplantation
- Kidney-sparing surgery (also as open surgery)
Our team also has special expertise in the following:
- Microsurgical vasectomy reversal
- Microdissection testicular sperm extraction
- Implantation of penile prostheses
- Fertility preservation in men with cancer
- Transurethral resection of the ejaculatory ducts
- Urinary diversion including bladder reconstruction
- Medical and surgical treatment of kidney stones and enlarged prostate
- Reconstruction of renal, ureteral and bladder abnormalities
