Lenox Hill Hospital is committed to delivering the highest quality care available to stroke patients. The Stroke Center offers the most comprehensive, specialized, and cutting-edge treatments for every type of stroke. In addition to our outstanding medical stroke specialists, the center brings together supporting physicians in other specialties and healthcare professionals, including:

  • Emergency medicine doctors
  • Neuro-interventionalists
  • Neurologists
  • Neuroradiologists
  • Neurosurgeons
  • Nurse practitioners
  • Occupational therapists
  • Physician assistants
  • Physical therapists
  • Speech therapists

We actively train all stroke team members and emergency medical technicians to quickly recognize and mobilize resources when a stroke patient comes to the hospital.

Patients who come in through our emergency room are quickly examined and given priority in all testing and diagnosis. Within minutes of a stroke code, our team performs a full patient assessment, rushes the patient to CT/MRI imaging and develops a treatment plan.

After the initial treatment, patients are monitored around the clock for neurological changes in the Stroke Unit, which is jointly managed by the Department of Critical Care Medicine and specially trained nursing staff.

The Lenox Hill Hospital Stroke Center offers 24/7 coverage and consultation, the latest stroke treatment options, and access to the latest clinical trials and research.
