The support staff team includes:
Deirdre O’Flaherty, MSN, APRN, BC, NE, ONC
Ms. O’Flaherty serves as the nursing director for the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery inpatient unit, as well as the assistant director of nursing and nursing education coordinator for Lenox Hill Hospital. She has extensive post-graduate training and more than 25 years of experience in both clinical and administrative nursing. Specifically, she is responsible for the overall assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care on the unit. Her goal is to create a patient-focused caring environment and to promote collaboration and respect among all caregivers in the department. She has been instrumental in the coordination of pre-operative education classes for patients preparing for total joint replacement.

Total Joint Replacement Class
For patients who are having a total joint replacement, this class will describe how to prepare for surgery, what to expect during the hospital stay and suggestions for a successful rehabilitation and recovery.
