About us

Members of the Lenox Hill Foot and Ankle Service provide comprehensive surgical and non-surgical treatments of the adult foot and ankle. The service was formally established in 1995. Dr. Stuart Katchis was appointed service chief at that time and continues in that role. The Foot and Ankle Service has continued to grow with the support of the current orthopaedics department chairman, Elliott Hershman, MD.

  • Hallux rigidus (Arthritis of the great toe)
  • Achilles tendonitis and ruptures

The Lenox Hill Hospital Department of Orthopaedics offers a five-year ACGME-accredited training program in orthopaedic surgery. The Department of Orthopaedics has 67 world class full-time or part-time attending and voluntary orthopaedic surgeons, and research scientists available to help train residents in the art of orthopaedics.
