Cardiology services

Northwell Health – Lenox Hill Hospital cardiology services are available on the island with Dr. Varinder P. Singh and Dr. Carl D. Reimers.

Dr. Singh

Dr. Singh is the chairman of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital and an assistant professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. He specializes in:

  • Cardiology
  • Interventional cardiology

Dr. Singh’s coronary interventions involve the use of thin tubes called catheters, which are inserted through small incisions and guided by X-ray through the blood vessels to the coronary arteries to help open blockages and make repairs in the heart. As an innovator in coronary interventions, Dr. Singh frequently performs the procedure through transradial access, whereby the catheter is inserted through a small access point in the wrist instead of the groin.  This approach offers greater comfort, lower risk of complications, fewer bleeding problems, and reduced recovery time. Dr. Singh is available once a month for new appointments and follow-up care.

Dr. Reimers

Dr. Reimers has more than 20 years of experience as an interventional cardiologist and has performed thousands of complex interventional coronary procedures with an outstanding success rate. Dr. Reimers is accomplished in challenging coronary stent procedures, as well as percutaneous mitral and aortic valvuloplasty, and rotational atherectomy. Dr. Reimers is available once a month for new appointments and follow-up care

Dr. Carl D. Reimers is the associate chief of cardiovascular medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital and an assistant professor at the Zucker School of Medicine. Dr. Reimers has achieved and maintained triple board certification in:

  • Cardiology
  • Interventional cardiology
  • Internal medicine.
