Division of Gastroenterology at Lenox Hill Hospital

Overview

Gastroenterologists and hepatologists at Lenox Hill Hospital specialize in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the pancreas, liver, gallbladder, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, and rectum. Emphasis is placed on advanced therapeutic endoscopy. The clinical staff utilizes the latest advances in endoscopic equipment to provide patients with the most comprehensive care possible. Staff members annually perform more than 10,000 minimally invasive endoscopic procedures, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, small bowel enteroscopy, endoscopic ultrasonography and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). The division strives to pioneer and develop new technology and to serve as a premier training site for physicians.

Clinical expertise

The division's goal is to provide the highest quality care for patients in New York City and the surrounding area while developing a far-reaching reputation in key areas such as clinical care, education and research. In order to accomplish this, we are expanding services in motility, therapeutic endoscopy, gastrointestinal cancers, cancer genetics, inflammatory bowel disease and obesity. Our faculty members are leaders in education and research, training exceptional gastroenterology fellows who demonstrate intellectual curiosity and academic potential.
