  • General surgery - The Division of General Surgery provides comprehensive surgical care for adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients. All physicians are specialists in their areas, and teaching appointments are through the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. We provide and maintain state-of-the art expertise and equipment for the best possible care.
  • Colon and rectal surgery - Our colon and rectal surgery specialists offer the full spectrum of gastrointestinal treatments from routine colon screenings and incontinence procedures to the most advanced tertiary-level care, including surgery for such conditions as inflammatory bowel disease, esophageal motility disorders and the management of all stages of gastrointestinal malignancies including liver, pancreatic, stomach and colon cancers.

  • Plastic and reconstructive surgery - The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery offers procedures for adults and children. Our skilled, board-certified team of plastic surgeons provides care for individuals who require acute trauma care, sophisticated reconstructive surgery or treatment for congenital deformities. In addition, we provide services for those who desire the latest techniques in aesthetic, endoscopic and laser surgery.

  • Acute care and trauma surgery - Critical care surgery deals with the preoperative and postoperative care of surgical patients who have life-threatening conditions caused by injury or illness. Our critical care surgeons are trained in all aspects of treatment for the critically ill surgical patient. Emergency general surgery involves the evaluation, resuscitation and operative care for patients experiencing an acute general surgical problem. Our emergency general surgery staff cares for patients who arrive in the emergency room with acute general surgery conditions such as appendicitis, cholecystititis, hernias and intra-abdominal emergencies.

  • Vascular surgery - The Division of Vascular Surgery at Northwell Health diagnoses and performs procedures to treat conditions affecting the circulatory system, including venous disease and diabetic foot conditions.

  • Wound care - At our wound care locations, we treat acute and chronic wounds at all body sites — including the lower extremities, abdominal and sacral areas — caused by diabetes, vascular disease, surgery, radiation, trauma, burns and pressure. As experts in wound care, our staff has advanced, ongoing training that includes the latest wound care technologies and medications. Our goal is not only to heal wounds, but also to preserve limbs and prevent wound recurrence. The Department of Surgery also participates in nationally recognized quality initiatives, including the National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP).
