Total joint replacement program
The Long Island Jewish Valley Stream Total Joint Replacement Program offers a continuum of musculoskeletal care within a highly integrated health care system. The skilled orthopaedic surgeons bring the highest level of credentials, specialty training and experience to deliver specialized care to every patient for a return to normal functioning as quickly and safely as possible.
The department’s advanced techniques enhance the clinical team’s ability to maximize the clinical outcomes of patients. They include:

The department offers a pre-operative joint replacement class that is designed to provide patients with all the necessary information on what will happen before, during and after surgery. The physicians strongly encourage attendance at one of these sessions.

Orthopaedic residency training program
The residency program provides coverage day and night, 365 days a year. The Long Island Jewish Valley Stream orthopaedic attending staff participates in continuing education of the orthopaedic residency trainees with a dual focus on the basics of total orthopaedic care combined with education on the most up-to-date procedures and treatments. Orthopaedic care is provided in the Emergency Department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Orthopaedic surgery program
The surgery program offers a full range of surgical treatments, from trauma injuries to total joint replacements. The department’s combination of expertise and utilization of new techniques enables most procedures to be performed as same-day surgery. For patients requiring hospitalization, Long Island Jewish Valley Stream offers a dedicated nursing unit for orthopaedic care.
Outpatient and inpatient services
Franklin Hospital has created a superior orthopaedic center. The orthopaedic surgeons and staff at the hospital are highly skilled and fully equipped to manage many different musculoskeletal problems, including those of the upper extremity, lower extremity and spine.
To complement orthopaedics, a variety of outpatient and clinical services such as physical therapy, radiology and pain management are available to patients.
After hospitalization, some patients may also require inpatient rehabilitation. For those who qualify, the team can facilitate a smooth transition to the Northwell Health Orzac Center for Rehabilitation, conveniently located on the hospital campus.
