The Department of Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital has a rich history of serving patients from the New York City metropolitan area. The mission of the department is to provide excellence in patient care and medical education through the Division of General Internal Medicine and medical subspecialties.
In addition to the internal medicine program, the department also sponsors six fellowship programs in cardiovascular disease, gastroenterology, hematology and medical oncology, interventional cardiology, nephrology and pulmonary medicine.
The Department of Medicine is comprised of more than 600 attending physicians and is responsible for 350 medical beds. Our ambulatory care centers serve more than 80,000 patients from around the region, representing a socioeconomically and ethnically diverse patient population. Physicians at Lenox Hill Hospital, a teaching center, also serve on the faculty of the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
