The Department of Emergency Medicine at North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) in Manhasset, NY, is a full-service, state-of-the-art facility that is equipped to handle any medical emergency. The department sees nearly 90,000 patients per year. As a designated tertiary care center, stroke center, percutaneous coronary intervention center and trauma center,  we care for the most complicated cases, as well as routine emergency and urgent care patients.

Our department provides a full emergency staff 24 hours a day featuring the latest technology including: a 640-slice computerized tomography scanner, diagnostic ultrasound imaging and dedicated Radiology and consultant services.

In addition to serving our patients today, we strive to improve the future of emergency care by engaging in clinical research and educating Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell medical students and emergency medicine physicians in-training. The department also hosts multiple continuing medical education courses and conferences including annual cutting edge symposia covering stroke treatment, trauma, and critical care.
