Acute Care Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital
New York, New York 10075
The Acute Care Surgery Service (ACS) Service at Lenox Hill provides treatment of acute surgical issues and injuries 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The division is comprised of 12 board certified surgeons under the umbrella of general surgery, which is lead by Gary Giangola, MD. The division oversees the care of a robust academic teaching service, providing a deep bench of the highest quality physician available to serve those in need.
Since its inception in the summer of 2014, the ACS service has provided world class care for the acutely ill surgical patient with referrals locally on the upper east side of Manhattan, the city limits, as well as from around the globe. Focusing on quality, communication, and streamlined care the service aims to restore health as rapidly as possible and provides priority service based on acuity of illness alone.
The division provides surgical care and consultation at the Lenox Hill Hospital on the Upper East Side, as well as at the full service emergency medical center in the West Village. The ACS service have streamlined the transfer and care of the surgical patient extending our reach to lower Manhattan, often with a single phone call, at any hour of the day or night. Following emergency or urgent care our goal is to send the patient back to their referring physician.
Our outpatient ACS division strives to see your outpatient referrals in a timely manner, and can often accommodate same day outpatient evaluations if needed, accepting almost all insurance carriers.
