Firas Chamas MD PhD is a fellowship trained spine surgeon who studied under experts in the treatment of complex spine disorders. After completing his fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital he served as Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. There he gained extensive experience in complex as well as minimally invasive approaches to lumbo-pelvic fixation in the treatment of complex sacral fractures and tumors.

Dr Chamas lived most of his life in New York. He received his MD/PhD from New York Medical College in Valhalla and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital. He spent a few years away to train and embellish his skills in Baltimore and Birmingham and then returned home to New York City.

He is a strong believer in listening to the patient and working with the patient , deciding on the best treatment option for each individual. Dr Chamas wide array of invasive and non-invasive techniques enables him to tailor an optimal treatment plan for each individual patient.
