Dr. Patel is a board certified physician in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. After having more than 20 yrs of academic career involved in training residents and pain fellows at St. Luke's/Roosevelt Hospital and being director of quality assurance in Anesthesia department she joined Manhattan spine and pain Management in 2010. In February of 2011 she obtained privileges for Pain Management in orthopedics department at Lenox Hill Hospital.

Her expertise in Pain Management involves interventional injection in the treatment of the degenerative spine disorders such as epidurals steroid injections, facet joint nerve blocks, radiofrequency, and lumbar disc decompression for herniated discs. She has also treated several patients with neuropathic pain and failed back syndrome patients with epidural stimulators and intrathecal drug delivery pumps.

For acute pain management control after surgery, she is fluent in ultrasound-guided extremities blocks as well as catheter placement for prolonged pain relief following operative procedures of the extremities. At Lenox Hill hospital, she also provides acute pain management services to post operative patients after spine and other orthopedic surgeries with patient control analgesia.

In essence, she takes pride in treating all her patients with acute or chronic pain with either pharmacologic or interventional injection treatments with the personal goal of allowing her patients to return their productive, independent, and pain controlled lives.
