Dr. Ruby Sharma is a medical oncologist at the Monter Cancer Center of the North Shore-LIJ Cancer Institue and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Hofstra-North Shore LIJ School of Medicine. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Hematology and Palliative medicine. Her clinical practice is solely dedicated to the treatment of patients with breast cancer, and her research is focused on the prevention of the disease, prevention of recurrence after surgery, and treatment of recurrences. She has special interest in Geriatric Oncology and is currently developing a Breast Cancer and Aging Program with support from The Samuels Foundation, The Manhasset Women's Coalition Against Breast Cancer, and the Cancer and Aging Research Group, a consortium supported by the NCI. Dr. Sharma is a member of the New York Metropolitan Breast Cancer Group, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American College of Physicians, American Society of Hematology and American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She meets weekly with the interdisciplinary Breast Cancer Tumor Board, where challenging cases are reviewed. In addition to patient care she is actively involved in the education of medical students, residents and fellows.
