Spinal Cord Dysraphia

Spinal Cord Dysraphia

Spinal cord dysgraphia is a malformation characterized by an incomplete fusion of the neural tube and backbone such as in tethered spinal cord syndrome and spine bifida. It is congenital, present from birth, as well as degenerative, meaning it becomes worse over time, especially as the affected individual grows. Due to the complex and highly delicate nature of this condition, multiple body systems involved, and the typically young age of the patient, it is necessary to have a clinical team comprised of multiple specialties to ensure all risks, options, and extraneous circumstances are covered.
