Northwell Health offers health care professionals the opportunity to continue their professional education and training. The continuing education programs provide will help our medical staff learn new techniques and theories to advance care and improve patient outcomes.

Continuing Medical Education

The continuing medical education provided to members of our staff physicians and physicians throughout the country and internationally is a fundamental asset to the maintenance of quality and patient safety. Northwell Health is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). Programs accredited by the ACCME certify educational activities for category 1 credit of the American Medical Association’s Physician’s Recognition Award, which state licensing and medical specialty boards use to re-license and recertify physicians.


If you are or have been a registered participant in a CME live activity through Northwell Health, you may download a detailed transcript of your CME activities and credits earned. Please note, regularly scheduled series (grand rounds) prior to July 2012 are not included in this transcript.

Continuing Nursing Education

The Institute of Nursing promotes constant development of skills and best practices for improved patient care by offering education and training to our nursing staff and nursing professionals outside of the health network. Northwell Health is approved as a provider of continuing nursing education by the New Jersey State Nurses Association’s Council on Continuing Education, which is accredited by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

Center for Learning and Innovation

The Center for Learning and Innovation (CLI) was born of an idea to nourish professional and personal growth in Northwell Health’s greatest asset – our employees.
