Assistant Vice President, Graduate Medical Education and Office of Academic Affairs
Venice VanHuse is the director of Graduate Medical Education and the Office of Academic Affairs at Northwell Health. She provides administrative oversight for more than 1,300 residents and fellows and is responsible for over 100 accredited training programs offered by at the health system. Ms. VanHuse works closely with program directors and clinical department chairs to continually improve the quality of medical, dental and podiatry training. She is responsible for planning recruitment strategies and provides oversight of compliance with accreditation requirements for graduate medical education. She also develops accreditation standards, policies and procedures for the programs, as well as evaluates strategic processes to enhance the learning environment along with the Designated Institutional Official/Chief Academic Officer.
Ms. VanHuse has more than 18 years of experience in managing graduate medical education for health systems around the metropolitan-area. Prior to joining the health system in 2011, she served as the administrative director of Graduate Medical Education at New York Hospital Queens and, before that the education program administrator in the Department of Pediatrics at Maimonides Medical Center.
Ms. VanHuse holds a bachelors degree in business administration from Wagner College and a Masters in Public Administration from Long Island University.
